Kryeministri slloven, Robert Golob, ka thënë se përmbytjet janë “katastrofa më e rëndë natyrore” në histori të Sllovenisë. Ai ka deklaruar se dëmet e shkaktuara nga përmbytjet kanë arritur në 500 milionë euro.

Nga shiu i madh janë përmbytur pjesët veriore, veriperëndimore dhe qendrore të Sllovenisë. Kryeministri u ka bërë thirrje sllovenëve që të qëndrojnë në shtëpi me qëllim që të mos u bëhet presion ekipeve të emergjencave.
